CZ is dam
Description
Czech Republic is a country that is famous for its numerous dams, which are great destination for recreational activities. However, the increasing privatization of these dams shorelines has led to a reduction in public access. This project aims to improve the shoreline by implementing a 50-meter setback zone, which frees the coastline of the dam.
Impact
60% part of the Slapy Dam`s shorline cannot be accessed because of trees and other natural obstacles. To solve this problem, wooden decks will be extended along where the dam shores meets the forest edges. This move will increase the capacity accessible shore up to 60%. The introduction of the 50 meters setback zone is the main part of the project that will increase the accessibility. This project will act as a model for other dams in the county that face similar accessibility issues.
