The North Bohemian region faces a number of economic and social problems. It has long been burdened by surface coal mining and, following the displacement of the German population, seems to be searching for its identity. This project is based on the idea of exploiting the hidden economic and natural resources that are found in the area. The potential of linking mostly stagnant small towns into one strong, dynamically developing metropolis that will compete with Prague in many sectors. By building new dense neighborhoods, both for living and business, and attracting new types of economy, this whole region can become a driving force for the entire Czech Republic.
