from mining to shining

Description

The North Bohemian region faces a number of economic and social problems. It has long been burdened by opencast coal mining, and after the displacement of the German population it seems to be searching for its identity. This project is based on the idea of exploiting the hidden economic and natural resources found in the region. The potential of linking mostly stagnant small towns into one strong, dynamically developing metropolis that will compete with Prague in many sectors. By building new dense neighbourhoods for up to a million inhabitants, with quality conditions for both living and working and developed infrastructure. Last but not least, by attracting new types of economy that will shape the identity of the area and become a driving force for the entire Czech Republic.
