Make Czech cities more green-old

Description

The project aims to transform urban squares in the Czech Republic into vibrant green spaces by creating miniature forests. By leveraging the concept of Miyawaki forests, which are dense, diverse, and self-sustaining ecosystems, the initiative seeks to enhance the ecological value and aesthetics of urban areas while providing numerous benefits to the local community. By making forests on Czech squares, this project aims to contribute to the conservation of nature, improve the quality of urban life, and inspire similar initiatives in other cities, creating a network of green oases that reconnect people with nature in the heart of urban environments.

Impact

The project’s impact is expected to be significant, benefiting both the environment and the community. The positive outcomes could be: enhanced biodiversity, improved air quality, urban heat island effect reduction, stormwater management, community well-being, educational opportunities and inspiration for future projects. The creation of forests on Czech squares can have a transformative effect, improving the ecological, social, and aesthetic aspects of urban areas while creating a more sustainable and resilient environment for current and future generations.
