Re-energizing Most-old

Description

23 CONCEPT The proposed project envisions transforming the industrial area of Dul Centrum into a modern and sustainable village that harnesses the potential of renewable energy sources. The project focuses on the innovative use of existing coal mining shafts to generate and store energy while minimising the impact on the environment. The design idea will also incorporate a number of sustainable elements to guarantee energy efficiency and minimal environmental effect. In order to produce electricity, geothermal energy production techniques will use the earth\\\’s inherent heat; the produced energy will then be stored using gravity-based energy storage. By incorporating solar panels, the town could produce its own clean, sustainable energy. Additionally, a sense of community and belonging will be fostered via the village\\\’s green spaces, public parks, recreational areas, livestock, seasonal gardens, greenhouses and community gardens. The transformation of Dul Centrum into a contemporary, environmentally friendly community will bring new commercial possibilities, including green jobs, and improve the standard of living for locals.
