Wildife on the move

Description

The loss of wildlife and their habitats is a critical global issue, necessitating effective protection measures. Wildlife migration corridors provide vital pathways for the movement of various species between fragmented habitats. The project explores biocorridor design challenges, reviews existing alternatives, presents a successful case study, and offers recommendations for improvement. This study develops sustainable solutions using architectural capabilities to address inaccessible areas, enhancing wildlife connectivity, reducing conflicts, and improving habitat quality. Expected outcomes include improved connectivity, reduced conflicts, and increased support for wildlife conservation.

Impact

+10,036 km2 area of green corridors. To enable save migration of animals through CZ, the highly fragmented natural habitants are connected with natural migration corridors. +400,000 hectares of forest, Sylvan Passages creates corridors of forest that allow for animals and other biomaterial to migrate across the Czech country.
