Bubble Bliss-old
Description
Czech spa culture dates back to 14th century and is famous for its natural healing waters. There are over 20 medical spa towns in the country, each with unique wellness and medical treatments that focus on relaxation and overall well-being.
The idea is to build health resorts along route networks that connect the Czech Republic\’s spa cities. The Czech Republic\’s government intends to turn former coal mine sites into recreational areas, notably by flooding them and creating lakes following restoration. I chose these former coal mines as the locations for the wellness centers. Due to the instability of the ground surrounding the old mines, structures functioning as spa facilities will be established on the lakes, resulting in a floating wellness center.
Facilities will be shaped in bubble-like domes have ETFE facades that give a lightweight and transparent covering. The spherical forms of soap bubbles inspired the design of the cushions used in these domes. The result is a unique architectural element that embodies the playfulness and beauty of nature.
Impact
Regarding the spread of bubble clusters around the lake, I have an idea to contribute. Additionally, I put out the idea of building infrastructure on lakes that were originally coal mines.
